Christmas randonnee 28 Dec. 2015

What a lovely warm day, 14 riders! 24k around the beautiful area Douzains, Serignac. We started at 11h00 and had a nice stop at the lake, where hubby vicki and hubby Julia brought us a picnic with mulled wine and nice home made mince pies! Thank you very much Vicki Drury andJulia Costin for taking us around your area! I think we will all have a good sleep!

FFE dressage Club competition 4 oct. 2015

Our first FFE dressage Club went well. There were 12 participants who went home satisfied. The weather was suddenly much colder than last week, with a fresh breeze, so few horses had a lot of energy. Especially Biggy! Congratulations to all the riders and thanks to the acc-members who came to help and support us!

Fun Horse Day at Pailloles October 28th 2012

In the biting north wind and clear sunshine the Association held it's first event at lieu dit Pailloles near Villeréal on the property of Karin and Eljo Vervelde on Sunday October 28th 2012.  Ten competitors turned up to compete in a simple dressage test of two levels and a Cross-jump course through woodland and across pastureland. Although there was a modest entry there was much interest shown in the event with many supporters and spectators arriving from all over the region. The dressage tests were judged by Marilyn Anderson and Clare Williamson.  It was a first for several of the horses!!  They ranged in breed from a British Warmblood (his first outing since he arrived in France some years ago!), to a Connemara who is more used to doing upwards of 90kms at an endurance competition!  The majority of the horses were coloured!!...... so... are we to consider turning ourselves into a coloured horse club?....probably not, but it was wonderful to see them all together.

After a light lunch prepared for us by Laetitia, which included a seasonal (and very welcome) Hallowe'en pumpkin soup, everyone, competitors and supporters, set off to walk the Cross-jump course which included a variety of rustic obstacles and some "show-jump" fences.... 14 in all, although some had a series of jumping efforts.  For each of the more challenging obstacles there was either a go-around or a reduced height option which was aimed at the Level 1 entrants.

The Cross-jump course was completed with speed and accuracy by everyone, and several enjoyed it so much that they went round another time HC.  All the horses appeared to really enjoy their outing, and their jockeys had broad smiles as well!!

RMT-training

A regularly happening, mostly with the same few folk, so it would be nice to see more people involved. It is invented to include everyone with the knowledge that it’s not possible for everyone to transport their horses so the RMT sessions are designed to come to you in rotation. You do not need to have a fancy “surface”. Everyone can benefit, the attendees don’t have to bring their horses. Every member can benefit, and everyone can help each other which are the ethos of RMT. Thank you for Karen Warden for letting us use her facilities.

Randonnees organised by some members in the area, St Eutrope de Born, Monflanquin and the Halloween ride at Bonaguil.

Lectures. Very interesting and helpful was the one on TREC by Tamzin Renfrew, letting us into some of the secrets of that sport. It certainly is something for members to get involved with. We also had a talk from Cheval Direct about the products they import and the help that they can offer our horses.

Vide Sellerie we had quite a lot of stalls, but unfortunately no buyers……

Yearly Fun day great fun and the biggest chance for members and friends to get together. Last October saw the third ACC Fun day and the stars of the day were certainly the youngest members! It’s an event for everyone to get involved whether you have a Shetland, Shire, Thoroughbred, etc. from 3-30 years old.

Clinics/stages

Dressage lessons with Isabelle Bouvier and Tom vd Walle.

Members support

Supporting members is an important thing and we have been to Barbaste to support members doing dressage and mentally support and congratulate Julia Costin, Natalie Triggs and Jill Harvey.
